Carmel’s Roundabouts

Carmel is starting to become known for the use of roundabouts offering help to control the traffic. Roundabouts are used, instead of the typical intersections, as a safety measure because traffic that circles must be going at slower speeds. Although, roundabouts do not handle traffic like the traditional roads do.
The Public Library
The Carmel Public Library was completed on May second nineteen ninety nine. The wonderful, two story building, is one hundred sixteen thousand sq ft. and offers shelving space for two hundreds ninety thousand various books, forty four thousand audiovisual products and six hundreds and sixty five periodicals.
The library has one hundreds nineteen computer lab stations, plenty of public seating, lots of study rooms and new technology for all ages. This Carmel Indiana library has a very nice gift shop and a coffee bar managed by an outside contractor.

The Monon Trail


Indiana’s Monon Trail: The Monon Trail is a walking, jogging, and bicycle trail that extends from Carmel’s boundary at 146th Street in Carmel Indiana (this is the tip of the north side of the trail) to 10th street in Indiana’s downtown Indianapolis Indiana on the south tip. The downtown Indianapolis section of the trail was finished in nineteen ninety nine and the Carmel section was completed in two thousand ans one and two thousand ans two.
