Although Indianapolis is thought of as a smaller city, Indianapolis offers a large array of theater; from the bright lights of great musicals to the cozy and quaint feel of chamber theater. Indianapolis has a great deal of corporate sponsors and donations whom support the Indianapolis arts. The Indianapolis government realizes the importance of the cultural development in the city. They have taken the initiative to encourage artists endeavors. Mayor Bart Peterson has increased funding for Local Arts.
The theater scene in Indianapolis has grown immensely offering traditional theaters and smaller independent theaters as well. A few of the great qualities of the companies in this city, is the hard work and diligence shown by the staff, crew, and actors associated with the local arts and all it entails.
