Fishers Parks And Recreation
Fishers Parks & Recreation was established in 1990. It had been developed to address the changing needs of town patrons. The goal was to offer a variety of amenities for the towns people to enjoy. Together with the Fishers Council and the Fishers Park Advisory, Fishers currently offers 12 developed parks with three hundred seventy six acres, 5 other sites still needing development with one hundred fifty two acres, and sixty plus miles of multi-use trails.
The Trails of Fishers
The town of Fishers Trail System provides a wealth of recreation as well as fitness related activities. Opportunities for non-motorized travel in Fishers is available as well. The trail system in Fishers will be used as the basis for pedestrians, bicyclists, parks, neighborhoods, schools, and more. An outdoor recreation source like. The trail system is valuable to the Fishers community. The Fishers trail system will aid in the overall health of the Fishers community. Fishers offers over 60 completed trails.
Rules for Fishers trails
There is a list of Ordinances and possible fines for breaking the rules. The rules listed here have been formed to ensure that all patrons have a chance to enjoy their experience on the Fishers system.
Please Be Aware of all Traffic – Stop and look for traffic at every intersection before continuing on the trail.
Control Your Speed – Change your speed for path conditions and other patrons. Be particularly careful while passing pedestrians, children, and dogs. Stay at a safe speed and be in control at all times.
Communicate Before Passing – It’s imperative to let other people know that you are approaching from behind. Whether on roller-blades, bikes, or running, say, “Passing on your left.” Give others plenty of time to respond.
Please Share The Trail – Step off the trail when chatting with one another and don’t block the trail for others.
The Right of Way – Rollerbladers and bikers yield to pedestrians; bike riders should yield to all. Stay to the right and pass on the left side.
Pet Owners – Pets should be on short leashes and its litter cleaned from the trail.
Don’t be a Litter bug- Respect the trails environment and character.
Be Polite – WE should be alert toward users with special needs. Please don’t trespass on others property.
